XSPC today introduced a new lineup of ultra thin radiators called the TX series.

At just 20.5mm, the TX radiators are the thinnest radiators in the world. They come in four sizes:

  • 120mm
  • 240mm
  • 360mm
  • 480mm

The radiators are perfect for builds where space is premium.  XPSC are particularly marketing these to be used with thin 15mm fans to fit in spaces where nothing else can.

The radiators have a copper core with 13 tubes and 22 FPI (Fins per Inch). It is the most dense core XSPC ever produced, but due to how thin it is, it should still be quite low restriction for airflow and perform well even with thin 14-15mm fans which typically struggle to generate as much static air pressure as the standard 25mm fans.

XSPC claims high performance and low restriction, the latter is certainly likely as very few radiators are high restriction, but high performance is unlikely when compared to thicker radiators which is essentially every other radiator out there.  We saw in the radiator roundup that thin and narrow radiators like EK’s SE just can’t compete on performance.  In reality the performance must be lower than any thicker radiator, however that doesn’t matter because you are only choosing this radiator if you can’t fit anything else, and so in that sense it is high performance when compared to the alternative which is no radiator at all.

Also of interest here is that XSPC’s old under performing EX design is still being marketed as current.  Perhaps with this new design, it will finally get retired or updated.
