Thermal Performance

Thermal Performance scores are derived from the relevant Performance Factor scores. We set this scale with 75% and below as the 0 mark, with each 2.5% increase from 75% in relative performance adding 0.5 to the awarded performance score.

Push Only Thermal Performance – 3.0/5

The CG360’s Push Only APF result of 89.6% translated into a thermal performance score of 3.0.

Push/Pull Thermal Performance –2.0/5

As we have seen in the data the CG360 didn’t perform so well in Push/Pull due to its core design favouring Push only. Its Push/Pull APF result of 82.9 gave a thermal performance score of 2.0.

Overall Thermal Performance – 2.5/5

The Master Performance score of 86.2 gives a score of 2.5/5.

Features & Quality – 3.5/5

The Coolgate CG360 has a good satin black paint finish which I can’t complain about, as even after a couple of year service and a few chassis changes this radiator still look good.

The extra ports offered by the CG360 are welcome, and was the part of the reason I purchased this radiator in the first place.

Unfortunately the CG360, like some other radiators from previous generations, there are tubes located directly under the mounting holes and with no protection plates fitted users should proceed with caution when mounting the radiator and fitting fans to it.

The core of the CG360 is biased towards low speed fans, so users should keep that in mind and decide if it is right for their intended set-up.  With a very low FPI count the CG360 will need cleaning less often than most of the radiators in the test group.  It also has a very very low restriction level.

Summary – 3/5

The CG360 is an average performer when set up in Push Only configuration, but performs rather poorly compared to the competition in Push Pull.  Despite having a similar looking core to the RX v2 it performs substantially worse and is not the best choice for a thick radiator with low FPI.

While it does have a design flaws over-all it’s still a decent radiator with good features.

Being a “last gen” rad, improvements have been made since the CG360 was released. Coolgate’s latest offering the G2 360 is an excellent follow up.

There are better performance options than the CG360 no doubt, but as its price continues to drop as retailers clear their remaining stock it might be a decent option for those looking for a thick radiator which is suited for Push Only.
