As mentioned the switches are now Razer’s own “Green” switch which are really manufactured by Kailh based on a copy of the MX blue design.  Anandtech goes into detail in this excellent post.  Razer did this we imagine based on availability and cost of the MX Blues.  Cherry freely admits that it can’t keep up with demand.  In addition – the exclusive launch of the RGB backlit switch with Corsair, and it’s launching of it’s own MX6 keyboard also means that Cherry is hardly being the best partner to Razer.DSC_9595 copyHandily I had an old version of the tournament with MX blues to directly compare both side by side and Anandtech’s analysis closely matches my own.
DSC_9592 copyThe Razer green switches actuate and click far earlier in the keypress than the MX blues do.  Now while Anandtech measured the actuation force as similar to blues, the feel of my sample was that the green switches required much less force.  The result is that the switch feels less “positive” or less confident in it’s use.  FWIW the Razer “Orange” switches are supposed to be a similar port from the MX Browns.
