We got to take a look at the new ROG Swift monitor at CES 2014. At the time we had a chat with the Nvidia guys and while they wouldn’t confirm the panel type they did confirm Gsync *AND* lightboost 2 aka “Ultra low motion blur”. We finally got around to processing some pics up close with the monitor that show some of those viewing angles. First off – those bezels are small:

And the buttons are on the side which is better for portrait surround than landscape surround. Display at a slight angle:

Rotation already showing much poorer viewing angles than IPS as expected:

At the same angles though the VG248QE seemed worse. Also a shot of the connectors:
