LianLi have been around forever making premium aluminum cases. For a long time not much really changed since the early models in the late 90s that broke them through. In fact I still use an old PC60 case for a rig that is used all the time. It’s 14 years old now. Since those days Lian Li improved things by supporting larger and better fans, more motherboard options, the occasional window, cube cases, and even the occasional dualie. This year though they launched the “O” series.  That’s “oh” not “zero”.  These are quite different to their past designs and show that Lian Li is tired of doing the same old slow iterations and is willing to try something a bit different:

There are four different sizes in the line up and the intent is that they can be mounted on a desk, but are primarily designed to be wall mount.  They all follow the slim design style with a full glass window and a rotated PCIE slot. The smallest is the PC-05X shown here, however on the Lian Li site, it’s listed as the PC-O5.  It’s a mITX rig that only supports air cooling and a SFF PSU.  If you wish to mount a HDD, then there is a snazzy covered box to mount it in.  Of course if you use this box, it really restricts the size of GPU you can fit.

The next step up is the PC-05S (again possibly with the X or not) – the S stands for watercooling.  Maybe.  Anyway basically the same case but with space up top for a radiator:
DSC_9476 copyNote that even thought this is mITX which would only have one slot there are four PCI slot mount at the bottom and the PCIE bracket can be moved to support the first three.

The radiator supported in this case is a 240 radiator – note that there are no fan screw mounts – there is a modular bracket that slides on to house the radiator.  Sort of like a CaseLabs quick release.

The radiator plus fans can be up to 60mm thick, meaning you need a 35mm or less radiator which limits your options a bit.

The back of the cases aren’t ugly but due to the slim design there isn’t a huge amount of clearance for bulky wires to be hidden behind the tray:

We also got to see the PC-O6S(X) which is the mATX version which can handle a 360 radiator, while the PC-O7SX fits full ATX.  The latter was not on display as it got damaged in shipping.

With the larger case you get to fit a larger GPU without sacrificing HDD space, and you get a regular PSU.

All of the four O cases will be available very soon and pricing is in the $290-420 range.  Not cheap, but a unique case that capitalizes on the wall mount PC trend.

Of course Lian Li had a bunch more cases on show, but this was really the new stuff.  See the gallery below for the rest!
