Could it be!? Is Microsoft going back to the “Classic” start menu! It may be so with an up and coming update to Windows 8.1! It appears to be a smooth combination of the “Classic” start menu and Microsoft’s infamous live tiles. Hopefully Microsoft delivers!

  1. I absolutely hate windows 8.
    I was already dual boothing with Mint.
    And I kept Win7 only for gaming. But si.ce I got Win8 I force myself to try and get the games to play on Mint with code weaver and Wine. Just so I never have too boot up that 8-full-windows.

    Maybe if they bring back the start menu, I might force myself to log on. But they lost me with 8, maybe for good.

  2. People hate the start menu a little too much, when it might actually be faster at finding things (unless you don’t know how to type without looking at your keyboard). Although I do think people should be given the choice, especially now that a lot of people have expressed their hate for the start screen. Nevertheless, I have been loving Windows 8 since I tried the consumer preview and it works for me even faster than 7, but then again, I do have it running on an SSD this time lol.
