Returning to the front panel it seems a good time to explain the flexbay system. The flexbays can be used as 5 1/4″ drives and this one is the exact size of 9 optical drives on top of each other. This means that mounting a drive or bay accessory still gives a very clean look, however unlike other cases there is no messy cage for the device unless you want it. Anything that gets mounted uses locator pegs on the back of the inner wall to place the flexbay item:

It then gets secured with thumbscrews in the front which hide nicely behind the outer layer (not shown). Empty bays can be filled with solid or ventilated plates:
The motherboard doesn’t mount to the frame that we’ve looked at so far but instead is secured to a tray that rests on the frame and can be secured with four screws:
The default tray size is ATX. Oversize boards like the Asus “eATX” Rampage IV Extreme will therefore overhang. There is a larger tray available for an upcharge that will fit SSI-CEB boards and below as well as providing cable cutouts for when you do use a smaller board:
